Chagar Bazar, Archaeological site in Al-Hasakah Governorate, Syria.
The excavation site consists of two mounds situated along the Wadi Dara tributary of the Khabur River, spanning approximately 12 hectares of ancient settlement grounds.
British archaeologist Max Mallowan conducted initial excavations between 1935 and 1937, discovering numerous artifacts that were later transferred to the British Museum.
The settlement reveals architectural evolution through circular tholoi structures and rectangular buildings, demonstrating the development of early urban planning methods.
The archaeological site stands at 390 meters above sea level and lies 35 kilometers north of Al-Hasakah city in northern Syria.
Excavations uncovered Khabur ware pottery and cuneiform tablets that document administrative practices from the Old Babylonian period.
