Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden, Tropical botanical garden in Na Chom Thian, Thailand.
Nong Nooch is a botanical garden in Na Chom Thian, Thailand, with several hundred acres of planted areas and themed sections. The site is divided into zones with palms, cacti, ferns, and water features linked by paved paths.
The garden began in the early 1980s on a former fruit plantation that was redesigned to showcase tropical plant species. Collections expanded over decades, adding plants from Southeast Asia and other regions.
The site follows Thai garden design traditions with sculptural hedges and topiaries shaped into elephants, dinosaurs, and other figures. These green sculptures serve as popular photo spots and show the connection between craftsmanship and nature in local landscaping.
A visit takes between two and five hours depending on interest, with shade under trees and covered areas for breaks. The route follows paved pathways suitable for wheelchairs and strollers.
A special collection of cycads, which belong to one of the oldest plant groups on Earth, grows in a dedicated section. These plants resemble the era of dinosaurs and show how some species have survived millions of years.
