Wat Chedi Yot Thong

Wat Chedi Yot Thong, Buddhist temple in Nai Mueang, Thailand.

Wat Chedi Yot Thong is a Buddhist temple in Phitsanulok Province with a distinctive bud-shaped chedi in the Sukhothai style as its focal point. The temple grounds include monk residences surrounding the chedi and a small lake that adds to the natural setting of the complex.

The temple was built during the Sukhothai period, a formative era in Thai architecture and religious life. Most of the structures that survive today reflect the distinctive design principles of that time.

The temple serves as a living center for the local community, with regular Buddhist ceremonies and meditation sessions where residents gather throughout the year. Visitors can experience the faith as it is practiced today by spending time in this active place of worship.

Visitors should wear clothing that covers shoulders and knees out of respect for the sacred nature of the temple. The site is accessible by car or motorcycle, though there are no specialized facilities for people with mobility challenges.

The temple houses the only surviving bud-shaped chedi from the Sukhothai period in all of Phitsanulok Province. This rare architectural form makes it a special destination for anyone interested in Thailand's classical design heritage.
