Khao Laem Ya – Mu Ko Samet National Park

The park extends over 131 square kilometers of land and sea, featuring white sandy beaches, mangroves, and coral reefs along the Gulf of Thailand.

The Royal Forest Department established this protected area in 1981, incorporating Ko Samet archipelago, nine small islands, and the Khao Laem Ya headland.

Local fishing communities maintain their traditional practices in designated areas of the park, contributing to the preservation of maritime heritage.

Visitors access the islands through boats departing from mainland piers, with multiple daily departures offering transportation to different sections of the park.

The marine section contains large populations of parrot fish, blue damselfish, and cuttlefish, making it a center for marine biodiversity research.
