Phra Chedi Klang Nam, Buddhist chedi in Pak Nam, Thailand
The white bell-shaped pagoda rises 10 meters from its reddish-brown brick base at the mouth of the Rayong River in Thailand.
Kate Yomjinda, the provincial administrator, ordered the construction of this navigational landmark for sailors entering Rayong waters in 1873.
During the annual Loy Krathong festival, local residents gather at the chedi to honor Phra Mae Kong Ka and participate in traditional boat races.
Visitors can explore this registered Thai historic site in Tambon Pak Nam, Amphoe Muaeng, Rayong, from 6 am to 5 pm every day.
Each December, two men climb to place a 6-meter red cloth at the top of the pagoda during a ceremonial offering of robes to Buddhist monks.
