Wat Traphang Thong, Buddhist temple in Mueang Kao, Thailand.
The main structure of Wat Traphang Thong features a large bell-shaped chedi positioned on an island within a small lake outside the historical park.
Constructed in the fourteenth century, this temple remains the sole ancient religious structure within the old city walls that maintains regular Buddhist activities.
Every morning at 6:20, monks gather at the bridge leading to the temple to collect offerings of food, flowers, and necessities from local residents.
Visitors can purchase prepared offering baskets from the town market to participate in the morning alms ritual alongside local community members.
The temple grounds contain a Buddha footprint from 1359, which was transferred from a different temple in the mid-twentieth century.
