Wat Putthabucha

Wat Putthabucha, Buddhist temple in Bang Mot district, Thailand

Wat Putthabucha is a temple in Bang Mot district featuring a prominent Ubosot that houses a Buddha image modeled after the celebrated Phra Phuttha Chinnarat from Phitsanulok. The complex includes decorated interior walls and extends across grounds with fruit trees and coconut palms in its southern section.

The temple was established to house an important Buddha image preserving the venerated original from Phitsanulok. A monumental statue at the entrance honors Luang Pu Man, an influential forest monk whose meditation teachings shaped the region from the 19th century to the mid-20th century.

The side walls of the main hall display detailed murals showing celestial beings arranged in layers, along with scenes from Buddha's life and his previous incarnations.

The temple is situated roughly one kilometer south of Wat Luang Po Ophasi and offers visitors a concrete pathway along the canal. This walkway makes it easy to explore the grounds and surrounding landscape.

The grounds include an orange orchard and coconut plantation in the southern area, blending spiritual practice with farming activities. This integration shows how the temple weaves its daily operations with local growing traditions.
