Prawet, Administrative district in southeastern Bangkok, Thailand
Prawet is a district in southeastern Bangkok organized into three administrative subdivisions with distinct neighborhoods. The area is crossed by Si Nakharin Road, which passes by shopping centers and connects different parts of the district.
The district became independent in 1989 after being part of a larger administrative area. Territorial changes followed several years later as the city reorganized its districts.
Rama IX Park honors the late king and draws locals who come to walk among flowering plants and shaded areas. The gardens reflect Thai design traditions and serve as a gathering place for the neighborhood.
Si Nakharin Road is the main artery and makes it easy to travel through the area and reach different locations. Several shopping centers are located along this route, helping with navigation.
The area manages an important water storage system that helps control flooding in eastern Bangkok. This system also supports local farming activities in the district.
