The Suan Kulab building displays Victorian architectural elements with Oriental designs integrated throughout its exterior and interior structure.
The building, constructed in 1912 during King Rama VI's reign, served as the residence of Admiral Prince Asadangdechawut until 1924.
The interior features traditional Thai artistic elements including intricate woodcarvings, stained glass windows, and decorative wall frescoes.
The building underwent extensive restoration work in 1993, supervised by the Fine Arts Department, which included repairs to the main structure and boundary walls.
The structure houses a collection of paintings from the royal collection, representing different periods of Thai artistic development.
