Wat Saphan Hin

The ancient temple stands on a hill with a 300-meter slate path leading to a 12.5-meter Buddha statue called Phra Attharot at the summit.

During the Sukhothai period of the 14th century, this religious complex served as a meditation place where King Ramkhamhaeng visited during Full Moon days.

The stone walkway and elevated position of the temple demonstrate the architectural methods used by Thai builders to integrate religious structures into natural landscapes.

Visitors need to climb numerous steps to reach the temple grounds, making early morning visits recommended to avoid midday heat and capture sunrise views.

The temple features laterite pillars and brick foundations that remain intact after seven centuries, displaying construction techniques of ancient Sukhothai craftsmen.
