Wat Prasat Sit, Buddhist temple in Nonthaburi Province, Thailand.
Wat Prasat Sit is a temple featuring a distinctive boat-shaped structure, where the solid lateral walls lack windows but are adorned with fine stucco ornaments. The interior contains an impressive ancient sermon hall that forms the spiritual heart of the place.
The temple was founded over 400 years ago during the reign of King Prasat Thong. It received its official royal recognition as an independent temple complex in 1767.
The interior walls display traditional Thai murals depicting scenes from Buddha's life. The sanctuary serves as a place where visitors experience deep spiritual reflection.
The temple is open to visitors on most days, and monks on site can guide you through the structures if you wish. Comfortable clothing and slip-on shoes are advisable, since you will be walking barefoot in the main hall or while exploring the grounds.
The grounds contain a massive Takian tree rising to about 40 meters in height with an estimated age of around 1000 years. This ancient tree shapes the landscape and lends the temple grounds a special natural dimension.
