Ariana, Administrative division in northeastern Tunisia
Ariana is an administrative region in northeastern Tunisia that encompasses multiple urban and rural communities. The governorate is organized into several administrative divisions and municipalities that together form a densely populated area.
This region was established in 1983 and took its present form after an administrative reform in 2000. The change reduced its territorial scope when an adjacent area was separated to form a new district.
The region maintains ten public libraries, three theaters, and multiple cultural centers that serve the local population through educational and artistic programs.
The area offers a mix of urban centers and more rural zones, providing different types of experiences for visitors. Infrastructure varies across the region, with some areas featuring modern facilities while others retain a more traditional character.
This region has a high degree of urbanization with an economy heavily focused on services. This concentrated development makes it one of the country's key economic centers despite its relatively small land area.
