Şehzade Mosque, Ottoman mosque in Istanbul, Turkey

The Şehzade Mosque is an Ottoman imperial mosque located in the district of Fatih, on the third hill of Istanbul, Turkey.

It was commissioned by Suleiman the Magnificent as a memorial to his son Şehzade Mehmed who died in 1543.

The mosque is one of the earliest examples of classical Ottoman architecture and has been described as a prototype of the Suleymaniye Mosque.

The mosque is open to visitors outside prayer times.

The mosque is also known as the 'Prince's Mosque' due to its dedication to Şehzade Mehmed.
