Fatih, Administrative district in Istanbul, Turkey
The district encompasses a 15-square-kilometer area between the Golden Horn, Sea of Marmara, Theodosian Wall, and Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul.
After Constantinople's conquest, the district received its name from Sultan Mehmed and developed around the Fatih Mosque built on the Church of Holy Apostles.
The district contains numerous theaters, libraries, Istanbul University, and the Orthodox Christian Patriarchate headquarters in the Church of St. George.
