Nuruosmani Mosque, Ottoman mosque in Istanbul, Turkey
The Nuruosmaniye Mosque is an Ottoman mosque located in the Çemberlitaş neighbourhood of Fatih district in Istanbul, Turkey.
It was commissioned from order of Sultan Mahmut I and completed by his brother and successor Sultan Osman III, giving it the name 'Nuruosmaniye' which means 'The light of Osman'.
The mosque is considered one of the finest examples of mosques in Ottoman Baroque style.
It's open to visitors outside prayer times and there's no entrance fee.
It is notable for its dome, which is considered the highest amongst all domes in Istanbul.
