Anastasian Wall, Fortified line in Turkey
The Anastasian Wall, also known as the Long Walls of Thrace, is a Roman defensive line located in Istanbul, Turkey.
It was constructed during the reign of Emperor Anastasius I in the 5th century.
Archaeological excavations reveal about its role played in protecting Constantinople from invasions.
Today, parts of the wall still remain and can be visited in Istanbul.
This wall spans for a length of approximately 56 km.
