Wugu District is an administrative division in the western portion of New Taipei City that is home to more than 90,000 people. The area spans approximately 35 square kilometers and combines residential neighborhoods, commercial zones, and open green spaces.
The area was known by the name Go-ko-khi in the 19th century before developing into a rural administrative township within Taipei County. Its status shifted in 2010 when it officially became a district of New Taipei City.
Multiple temples dot the district, where residents gather throughout the year to celebrate traditional Taiwanese festivals. These gatherings shape community identity through shared worship practices and seasonal observances.
The district is well connected by transportation, with direct access to Zhongshan Freeway and Provincial Highway 64 linking to major centers in northern Taiwan. Getting around locally is straightforward whether you use public transit or explore on foot through the neighborhoods and parks.
Mount Guanyin rises as a natural landmark within the district, providing outdoor spaces for recreation and activities. Adjacent to this mountain lies the New Taipei Metropolitan Park, which supplies green areas for the local community.
