Shih Hsin sits in Muzha District in the southern part of Taipei and offers programs in journalism, law, business administration and humanities subjects. The main campus spreads across several buildings with libraries, media studios and sports facilities.
The founding took place as a journalism school in 1956 by two experienced press workers. The rise to full university status happened four decades later near the end of the 20th century.
The name means 'truthful news' and reflects the origins in journalism training. Students run their own radio broadcasts and newspaper offices as part of their practical coursework.
