Tai-an Hot Spring, Hot spring in Miaoli County, Taiwan.
Tai-an Hot Spring is a thermal source located along the Wenshui River in Miaoli County. The water contains sodium hydrogen carbonate, remains colorless and odorless, and has a neutral pH level.
The thermal springs were developed during Japanese colonial rule from 1895 to 1945. However, local Atayal tribes had known about these springs long before colonization began.
The nearby museum displays traditional objects from the Atayal people, including clothing, weapons, and household items that show how the indigenous community lived. Visitors can learn about their daily life and customs through these artifacts on view.
The spring area can be reached via National Freeway 1 by taking the Miaoli Interchange and following provincial highways to reach the destination. Visitors should plan to explore the area during daytime hours when facilities are fully operational.
Part of the facility requires crossing a suspension bridge to reach an island where a specialized hotel operates. This unusual arrangement makes the visit feel like a distinctive experience.
