Nan'an, Hualien

Nan'an is a rural settlement at about 300 meters elevation in eastern Taiwan, situated among productive farmland. The area features rice paddies, tea plantations, banana groves, and orange orchards that define the local landscape.

The area was originally inhabited by indigenous communities before the Japanese colonial period shaped its development. After Taiwan's transition to modern governance, the settlement evolved into the agricultural community visible today.
