Hochang building materials company, Historical materials company in Guangfu Village, Taiwan
The two-story Baroque structure spans 302 square meters, incorporating coral stone, bricks, concrete, and premium cypress wood in its construction.
Founded in 1919 by Lu Wu-Chen during the Japanese colonial period, the building later became the residence of Lu An-De, the seventh magistrate of Penghu County.
The building combines Japanese and Baroque architectural elements, featuring white walls with relief decorations and wooden lion sculptures at the entrance.
The first floor now houses a restaurant, while the second floor maintains its original Japanese-style rooms with eight-bed and six-bed configurations.
The structure contains high-grade timber imported from Tangshan, China, demonstrating the commercial connections between Taiwan and mainland China in the early 20th century.
