Irpin, Satellite city in Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine
Irpin is a residential town north of Kyiv along the river that shares its name, spreading across both banks. Parks and green areas sit between the buildings, breaking up the housing blocks with open spaces throughout.
Railway workers founded the settlement in 1899 during the construction of the Kyiv–Kovel line as a passing loop station. Over the following decades, it grew beyond this initial function and developed into a community in its own right.
