Vyzhnytsia National Nature Park

Vyzhnytsia National Nature Park is a protected area in the Bukovinian Carpathians featuring mountain terrain with gentle slopes, wide valleys, and numerous waterfalls throughout. The park contains varied forest ecosystems and rock formations that create diverse natural habitats across its landscape.

The park was established in 1995 as a conservation area to protect the natural landscapes of the Bukovinian Carpathians. Its creation aimed to safeguard this important mountain region and its natural complexes in Eastern Europe.

The territory was traditionally home to the Hutsul people, and their heritage is visible in the settlements and monuments scattered throughout the park. Walking paths connect these places and show how communities have shaped and lived within this landscape for generations.

The administration center in Berehomet serves as the main point of contact for visitor information and orientation. It is helpful to gather information before exploring, as the terrain is extensive and walking paths vary in difficulty.

The park contains roughly 960 vascular plant species, including rare orchid populations spread across two distinct geobotanical districts. This remarkable plant diversity developed due to the different natural conditions found within its varying forest types.
