Bukovina waterfalls form a chain of seven cascades stretching nearly 2 kilometers along the Smugariv River in Chernivtsi region. The falls range in height from 3 meters to 19 meters, creating distinct drops across the landscape.
The first waterfall, Kovber, was named after a Romanian landowner who built a water intake structure before the Soviet period. This early infrastructure shows how the area was used for practical purposes over generations.

The Sych waterfall produces a distinctive hissing sound as water rushes down its nearly vertical face, creating an unusual acoustic effect. Visitors often notice this particular sound signature when standing near this cascade.
