Church of Nativity of the Theotokos, Rohatyn

The Church of Nativity of the Theotokos stands with a stone quadrangular tower reaching 30 meters high at the edge of Rynok Square.

Built between the 14th and 15th centuries, this religious structure served as both a place of worship and a defensive fortification during periods of conflict.

The church contained one of the largest Renaissance iconostases in Ukrainian history, though only two icons remain and are now preserved in Lviv's National Museum.

The church building combines military and religious architectural elements, with its tower functioning as both a bell tower and an observation point.

The structure incorporates both Gothic and Renaissance architectural elements, making it a representation of multiple European building traditions.
