Kasova Hora, Protected natural area in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine
Kasova Hora is a ridge formation in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast that extends across 65 hectares with steep slopes rising to 335 meters. The landscape features natural grassland and vegetation patterns that reflect the typical biodiversity of the region.
The site gained protected status in 1975 as recognition of its value as a large grassland ecosystem. This designation marked an important effort to preserve the natural environment of Eastern Europe.
The natural monument bears different names across languages, known as Касова Гора in Ukrainian and 科索沃霍拉 in Chinese.
The northern and northeastern sections are subject to national protection regulations that govern access and use. Visitors should check current access guidelines before planning a visit.
The site hosts reintroduction programs for endangered species such as Przewalski's horses and roe deer. These efforts demonstrate how the protected area contributes to restoring animal populations.
