Church of the Dormition, Krylos

The Church of the Dormition is an Orthodox place of worship with a rectangular form, single dome, and rounded altar section. A three-tiered bell tower and decorative iron fencing surround the grounds.

The building was constructed in 1763 under the commission of Count Nicholas Vasyl Potocki for the Ukrainian Greek Catholic community. Its design resulted from collaboration between prominent architects and sculptors of that period.

The church holds religious artworks and an iconostasis that reflect the faith of its community. Visitors can observe the crafted details that ornament the interior space.

The grounds are accessible during daylight hours and have open areas for viewing the structure and bell tower from outside. Visitors should wear appropriate clothing for a place of worship.

The artistic embellishment resulted from collaboration between architect Bernard Meretyn and sculptor Johann Georg Pinsel. This partnership represented one of their final joint works and demonstrates their connected style.
