Kadiivka, Mining center in Luhansk Oblast, Ukraine
Kadiivka is a mining settlement in Luhansk Oblast stretching along the banks of the Komyshuvakha River. Residential districts spread between industrial facilities and green spaces in eastern Ukraine.
The settlement began in 1814 as a small village called Shubinka near newly discovered coal deposits. The place grew with mining in the late 19th century and later received the Order of the Red Banner of Labour.
The town carries its current name since 2016, after being known as Stakhanov for over a century. Residents use the central square for meetings and market visits on weekends.
Access is through overland roads connecting the area with neighboring settlements. Visitors should check current security conditions in the region before planning any journey.
The two localities Almazna and Irmino sit within the same administrative territory and form a connected urban area. Local bus lines link all three places at short intervals during the day.
