Chuhuiv, Military town in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine
Chuhuiv is a city in Kharkiv Oblast that stretches along the Siverskyi Donets River. It serves as the administrative center of its region and sits in a landscape shaped by Eastern Ukrainian geography.
The city was founded in 1533 as a military fortification to protect strategic interests in the region. In the 17th century, it played an important role in the interactions between local Cossacks and Moscow authorities.
The city maintains several educational institutions, including eight schools for grades 1-11, technical training centers, and multiple preschool facilities for local residents.
Visitors can explore the administrative center on foot and find several schools and community facilities throughout the city. The town connects well to the surrounding region via local transportation routes.
During February 2022, Chuhuiv experienced significant military events, with Ukrainian forces successfully repelling attacks and regaining control of the city by March.
