Vasylkiv

Vasylkiv is an industrial city in Kyiv Oblast that stretches along the Stuhna River. The town houses factories and workshops that produce electrical goods, leather products, and other manufactured items.

The settlement was founded at the end of the 10th century and received fortifications in the following period. It survived several invasions and developed over the centuries into an important trading center.

The town grew as a trading center along a river, and local workshops still show how people made things for everyday use. Walking through older parts, you notice buildings that reflect this working past.

The town sits comfortably along the river, which makes it easy to find your way around and offers good paths. The ground is fairly flat, so walking from place to place is straightforward.

A quarantine house from the early 18th century shows how the town dealt with illness and disease. This early focus on public health was unusual for the region at that time.
