Bila Krynytsia, Urban settlement in Zhytomyr Oblast, Ukraine.
Bila Krynytsia is an urban-type settlement in Zhytomyr Oblast, located along waterways in a flat region at an elevation of about 137 meters. The settlement functions as an administrative center for surrounding rural communities in the area.
The settlement was founded in 1603 and grew from a small farming community into an important administrative center. It underwent various administrative changes, particularly until 2019 when local governance structures were reorganized.
The name means White Well and refers to the pale coloring of water in local springs, caused by mineral deposits in the chalk-rich soil.
The settlement is well connected by road to nearby Radomyshl and other towns in the region. Visitors will find basic services and facilities typical of an agricultural community center.
Historically, the location sat at the intersection of three different administrative territories, shaping local governance for decades. This unusual position influenced how the settlement developed and was organized administratively until recent restructuring.
