Slobids'kyi District, Administrative district in eastern Kharkiv, Ukraine
Slobids'kyi is an administrative district in eastern Kharkiv that houses several major industrial factories, including the Malyshev Factory and the plant named after Frunze. The area combines manufacturing facilities with residential neighborhoods and six public libraries that serve the community.
The area was originally established in 1938 under the name Kominternivskyi District, reflecting Soviet ideology of that era. It received the name Slobids'kyi in 2016 as part of Ukraine's decommunization reform.
The district centers on the Park of Culture and Recreation of Machine Builders, a gathering space where locals spend leisure time among green areas. This reflects the deep connection between the community and the industrial heritage that shaped the neighborhood.
The district has multiple medical facilities available for healthcare needs and several public libraries that are freely accessible throughout the area. These services are spread across the neighborhood for convenient access.
The Metalist Stadium, one of the district's most notable sports facilities, served as home ground for multiple football clubs including teams from outside the area. This makes it an important landmark in the local sports history.
