St. Nicholas Cathedral

St. Nicholas Cathedral is an Orthodox place of worship in Nizhyn, rising about 55 meters tall with five domes and constructed entirely of brick in Ukrainian Baroque style. The structure displays a symmetrical design with traditional architectural elements characteristic of the region.

This cathedral was built between 1654 and 1658 during a period of religious expansion in the region. The project responded to the need for a strong Orthodox religious center serving the Nizhyn community.
