Алмазний, Residential district in Shevchenkivskyi District, Ukraine.
Almaznyi is a residential district in the southwestern part of Poltava with buildings ranging from five to fourteen stories in height. The neighborhood developed with a mix of construction techniques and materials suited to local conditions.
The district emerged in 1966 alongside one of the Soviet Union's largest facilities for producing artificial diamonds in Poltava. The factory shaped the development and daily life of the surrounding residential area for decades.
The district integrates educational facilities, including multiple schools and kindergartens, forming a community center for local families.
The district is walkable and offers various local shops and services for daily needs. The well-distributed infrastructure makes schools and kindergartens easily accessible for families living in the area.
The name comes from the diamond factory that operated here until 2005 and gave the area its identity for many years. After its restructuring, the district transformed into an ordinary residential neighborhood while keeping its distinctive name.
