Laszki Murowane Castle, Medieval fortress in Murovane, Ukraine.
Laszki Murowane is a stone fortress in Ukraine built with defensive features across multiple levels. The complex is surrounded by a large park dating to the 18th century that remains part of the site.
The fortress started as a medieval stronghold and underwent major rebuilding during the early modern period. In the 1730s the Mniszech family carried out extensive expansion and reinforcement of the structure.
The castle served as a residence for local nobility who used it to display their wealth and authority through grand architecture. This role as an aristocratic seat continues to shape how people in the region understand its significance today.
The site is located in the Sambir region of Lviv Oblast and can be reached on foot via local paths. It is best explored at a leisurely pace to properly take in both the fortress and the surrounding park.
A surviving garden plan drawn by Henry Klein in 1734 reveals how the original landscape around the fortress was designed. This plan is one of the few reliable sources for understanding the full layout of the medieval complex.
