Kmytiv art museum

The museum displays more than 3,000 artworks across multiple galleries, featuring paintings and sculptures from Ukrainian and Soviet-era artists throughout its exhibition spaces.

Founded in 1974 through Yosyp Bukhanchuk's initiative, the museum received an initial donation of 600 paintings from his personal collection to establish its foundation.

The museum preserves artworks by notable Ukrainian painters including Tetyana Yablonska, Mykola Hlushchenko, and Mykola Maksimenko, representing different artistic movements.

Located at coordinates 50.294507, 28.88661, the museum occupies a modernist building with a distinctive wave roof designed by Professor Ihor Fomin in 1985.

The European Museum Academy recognizes this institution within its network, highlighting its role in preserving Soviet-era art and contemporary Ukrainian cultural expressions.
