Samchyky Estate

Samchyky Estate is a former aristocratic residence featuring an ornate palace surrounded by expansive gardens and manicured grounds. The property contains several architectural structures and a variety of tree species that divide the landscape into distinct sections.

Colonel Petro Chechel built this grand residence in the late 18th century with Empire-style decoration and oriental design elements. The estate subsequently underwent several phases of transformation reflecting changes in ownership and historical circumstances over time.

The estate is connected to the local Samchykivka painting tradition, a decorative art style with floral patterns that developed in the late 19th century. Visitors can still see these characteristic designs throughout various rooms and objects on the grounds today.

The estate offers traditional painting workshops where visitors can learn techniques using paper, wood, plaster, and acrylic paints. It is worth planning your visit in advance to check available classes and choose a season when outdoor areas are most accessible.

Two stone lions guard the entrance gate, each displaying a different expression – one appears cheerful while the other looks stern. This detail is easily overlooked but immediately sets the tone for a visitor arriving at the property.
