The park was established in 1958 on former peat bogs, with parts previously belonging to the State Horticultural School before 1945.

The space is bordered by Rainisa Street, Zamarstynivska Street, Torfova Street, and Viacheslav Chornovil Avenue, with multiple entry points.
The construction of 700th Anniversary of Lviv Street in the 1970s divided the park, separating its meadow section from the main grounds.
