Sopit is a waterfall in the Skolivski Beskydy Mountains where water drops about 8 meters over rocky layers. At its base, the falling water spreads into a wide pool before flowing into the Sopotianka River.
The waterfall formed through the slow erosion of Carpathian rock layers over thousands of years. Continuous water flow carved a path through soft stone, gradually creating the cascade we see today.
The site serves as a gathering place where visitors connect with the surrounding forest and mountain landscape throughout the year. People come here to appreciate the natural environment and experience the rhythms of the changing seasons.
A marked trail leads to the waterfall, taking about 20 minutes from the parking area. Resting spots and small food stands are positioned along the path, making the visit straightforward and comfortable.
During winter, the falling water freezes into dramatic ice formations that look like natural sculptures against the rock face. This seasonal transformation makes the site look completely different from other times of year.
