Yashmovyi beach

Yashmovyi beach is a shingle shore with dark pebbles and clear water, nestled beneath towering rocky cliffs along the Black Sea coastline. The beach stretches roughly half a kilometer and sits directly below steep rock formations that rise sharply from the water.

The beach lies beneath St. George Monastery, founded in 891 and one of the oldest religious sites in the region. The monastery has shaped the area's history for centuries and remains a key landmark above the shore.

Local vendors sell regional specialties such as Turkish pastries, shrimp, and baklava during summer months. These food traditions reflect the area's culinary influences and shape the social rhythm of the beach.

Visitors must descend approximately 800 stone steps from the monastery to reach the beach, so comfortable footwear is essential. Facilities on-site are limited, so bring water, snacks, and other supplies you may need.

The water reaches approximately 30 degrees Celsius during summer months, making swimming particularly pleasant. This warmth attracts many swimmers and creates ideal conditions for extended time in the water.
