The rocks bear the names of Orestes and Pylades, characters from Greek mythology who traveled to Taurida seeking the wooden idol of Artemis.

The larger rock features a 15-meter-long tunnel cave at 13 meters depth, making it an interesting destination for diving expeditions.

The rock formations contain intrusive igneous rocks that provide geological evidence of the region's volcanic past and underwater formation period.
