Perényi Mansion, Vynohradiv, Baroque château in Vynohradiv, Ukraine
The Perényi Mansion is a Baroque building with four corner towers and an arched entrance surrounded by decorative elements. This three-story complex now houses the district education department and is not regularly open to the public.
The fortress was first recorded in 1573 and underwent a major transformation during the 17th century. Its conversion to a Baroque residence reflected a shift from military defense to aristocratic display.
This mansion shaped the town's appearance for centuries and shows how the local nobility once displayed their status. The Baroque form with its towers and decorative details was a sign of wealth and power in the region.
Access to the interior is limited as the building serves an administrative function. Visitors can view and photograph the exterior facade and tower structures from the street.
A memorial statue of Perényi Zsigmond was destroyed by Soviet forces in 1945 and was restored to its original position in 1991. This restoration reflects the complex history of the site and its importance to local memory.
