Gog Magog Hills, Chalk hills in Stapleford, England

The Gog Magog Hills form a chalk ridge southeast of Cambridge, reaching heights of 75 meters at Telegraph Clump and 74 meters at Wandlebury Hill.

Iron Age settlers constructed defensive structures at Copley Hill and Cherry Hinton, with archaeological evidence indicating Bronze Age occupation in the region.

The name originates from a 1574 decree prohibiting Cambridge students from visiting these hills, referencing the mythological giant Gogmagog from British folklore.

The Magog Trust maintains 163.5 acres of public land, offering walking paths, recreational areas, and designated parking facilities with variable closing times throughout the year.

Local residents refer to these hills as 'the Gogs,' encompassing both Magog Down and Wandlebury Country Park in their community terminology.
