Dunollie Castle, small ruin located north of the town of Oban, Scotland
Dunollie Castle is a ruined fortress in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The remains sit on a hilltop overlooking water and show foundations from different building periods spanning medieval times to later structures.
The castle was founded near an earlier ringfort and expanded through several rebuilding phases over centuries. The site was abandoned in the 1600s and has since been protected as an archaeological location.
The site is now open to the public as an unbuilt landscape with no structures to enter. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and be prepared for uneven ground and possible slippery patches.
