John Dewar & Sons established this distillery in 1896 to produce quality whisky. Operations have continued to the present day despite brief interruptions during the two World Wars.
The name refers to a Gaelic expression for a river passage that once marked this location. Visitors can observe today how craftspeople work with local grain while maintaining techniques from the 1800s.
