Glasgow Queen Street railway station, Railway station in central Glasgow, Scotland

Glasgow Queen Street is a railway station in central Glasgow with two levels and different platform heights. The lower platforms serve connections across Scotland's Central Belt, while the upper platforms connect to Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway began construction in 1842 as Dundas Street Station, later renamed Queen Street. The original iron train shed became a defining feature after the line opened.

The station's Victorian architecture reflects Glasgow's railway heritage and engineering pride from the 19th century. The curved glass roof forms part of how locals identify and navigate the city center.

The station has ticket offices, information points, and accessible toilets located in easy-to-find areas. Visitors can use bicycle storage, refreshment outlets, and free Wi-Fi throughout the building.

The curved glass roof was completed in 1878 and remains one of Scotland's largest railway station roofs from that era. The recent modernization kept this original structure intact while adding longer modern platforms.
