The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a living memorial to the Holocaust.
It was established by Congress in 1980 and opened to the public in 1993.
The museum promotes the understanding of the Holocaust history through exhibitions, research, and publishing.
The museum is free to visit, but timed entry passes are required from March to August.
It houses more than 12,500 artifacts related to the Holocaust.
