Belaire Apartments

Belaire Apartments is a residential tower on East 72nd Street with a red brick exterior and reinforced concrete frame. The 42-story structure contains 183 apartments and occupies much of the block between York Avenue and FDR Drive.

The building opened in 1988 as a joint development with Hospital for Special Surgery, which operates medical offices and facilities on the lower 14 floors. This partnership integrated medical and residential uses from the building's inception.
