Burlington, Fourth-class city in Racine and Walworth Counties, Wisconsin

Located at the intersection of Racine and Walworth Counties, Burlington extends across both jurisdictions with most of its territory situated in Racine County.

The settlement, initially named Foxville, changed to Burlington in 1839 and received incorporation as a village in 1886 before achieving city status in 1900.

Descendants of English Puritans shaped the early community values, emphasizing education and establishing farms in the previously forested wilderness.

The City Clerk's office at 300 N Pine Street handles administrative matters, elections, and resident services from Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 4:30 PM.

A Nestlé chocolate factory established in 1966 led to Burlington's designation as Chocolate City USA, celebrated during the annual Memorial Day weekend festival.
