One Times Square, Skyscraper in New York City.
One Times Square, also known as 1475 Broadway, the New York Times Building, the New York Times Tower, or simply as the Times Tower, is a 25-story skyscraper located at 42nd Street and Broadway in New York City.
Built in 1904 to serve as the headquarters of The New York Times newspaper, it was the second-tallest building in the world when completed.
The annual New Year's Eve ball drop, which began in 1907, takes place atop One Times Square.
Today, the building is mostly empty, but remains a major commercial property due to its iconic location.
Despite being one of the city's shortest skyscrapers, its unique history and prime location make it more valuable for advertising than occupancy.
